Product Description Summary & Evaluation - Draft 2 (Final)

According to the Kinesis Fleet website (n.d.), Kinesis management system helps companies streamline labor-intensive processes, providing unprecedented visibility and monitoring of assets and personnel in real-time. The system combines the use of telematics data, GPS technology, and an onboard diagnostic system to monitor and optimize the management of both fleet and manpower. Using this system, drivers are informed in advance to avoid routes with heavy traffic and are provided with alternate routes to their destinations, which contributes greatly in term of work productivity and reduction in fuel consumption. The distinctive features that allow Kinesis to stand out from other fleet management systems, are the ability to provide fuel card data integration with telematics data, this greatly improves overall cost control for the companies. Furthermore, Kinesis Geofence is a unique feature, that will alert users when their vehicles enter a pre-set area. This is especially useful to monitor movements both in and out of an area and thus enabling a better fleet management. Furthermore, Kinesis has a personalized smartphone application, which provides performance reports and vehicle checks and recognizes opportunities in the business for greater efficiency. For these reasons, while there are many similar products on the market, Kinesis is a fleet management system that can stand out from its competitors with these unique functions.

First and foremost, according to the article, “UK Fuels merges“, in the past, the fleet logistics administrator obtaintelematics and fuel card data separately. The difference between Kinesis and other telematics companies is that it provides a fully-integrated live link between telematics and fuel card data. This means that companies can now integrate their fuel card transaction with telematics data feeds. This enables them to collect detailed fuel efficiency reports and identify the worst performing vehicles accurately. Furthermore, it cuts down the operational and maintenance costs through the access of real-time reports.

Secondly, Kinesis can assist in maintaining road safety by making effective use of the information provided by a telematics device. Through the data, managers can observe their driving habits. The administrator will provide feedback base on the data collected to the drivers to boost their style of driving. The feedback allows the driver to refine driving techniques and helps to raise the safety of the driver, as well as promoting overall road safety.

In our own opinion, it is important to select a fleet management provider that has a good infrastructure of core features. Kinesis exclusive functions not only it can help enhance operational efficiency but it also remotely optimizes operations, greatly improves road safety and streamlines company work processes.
